This Is My Story ........

Years ago, I wrote this song, “My Very Best Friend” for the purpose of conveying the message on the importance of staying in touch with our loved ones. If we don’t, we have no one but ourselves to blame if we never be able to get this chance again.

I set up a blog for this purpose and shared it with some of my friends. Sad to say this, no notice was taken of, to a blog of such nature. A simple message which can change our lives had been overlooked.

I had not been in touch with a very close friend of mine for a long time. I managed to rekindle this friendship recently. We were planning a get together to catch up on old times. He was then busy playing golf in China, while I was busy playing badminton in Taiwan.

However, just the other day, my whole world stood still when I heard this piece of news. This friend of mine has left this wonderful world without a word of farewell. I had nothing to say except asking questions like, “Oh! My God, isn’t it too late?”, “What now?” etc.

This friendship is of passed memories from now. The most recent being, his last two SMS messages to me plus my final phone conversation with him in which he declared that he had just passed his routine medical check-up with a clean bill of health. When I heard that I felt really good for him.

We do not dictate our lives. Don’t let precious time slip through our fingers. This has happened to me. Please ensure that it doesn’t happen to you!

"Nothing Is Too Late If We Make An Effort!"

My Very Best Friend (Lyrics)

Around The Corner There Lives My Best Friend
Along This Street That Never Ends
I Haven't Seen Him So Many Years
Even Though We Live So Near

*** Chorus ***

*** Tomorrow I Promise
I Will Call On Him
And Tomorrow I Promise
To See How He's Been

And Before We Know
The Distance Between Us Grows
As Tomorrow Comes And Goes ***

Around The Corner Not Miles Away
Finally Found Out He Died Today
I Feel Remorseful In The End
I Have Lost My Very Best Friend

*** Chorus Twice ***

*** Coda ***

If You Love Someone
Show It Now
And Not Tomorrow
